Surprise, deaths have been changed

Surprise, deaths have been changed

Deaths no longer accumulate and clear every hour in one lump sum. Each death stays on your character for a set amount of time and then clears so it is not counted against you. When you have enough deaths on your character to hit your limit, you are stuck just as before until one of your deaths clears.

For those that that use the last life of the hour as throw away, this is bad news. For those that spread their deaths out and try not to die, this wont affect you.

You also have a small time limit after a death where you are frozen at your life monument. This allows you to gather your senses before you travel again.

Here is how the system currently is working. This may change as we fine tune.... Ill keep this thread updated until we settle. For now, please report in the BUGS forum if you are experiencing something different than what is described below.

IF YOU ARE LESS THAN LEVEL 4: You should have no death penalties of any kind.

IF YOU ARE LEVEL 4 - LEVEL 9: You are allowed 2 (or 3 if you are Noble) deaths per 60 minute period. Every time you die, that particular death goes on a timer and you get it back after 60 minutes elapses. So if you die at 3:15 and again at 3:30, you will be stuck until 4:15 at which time you will get one death back. If you die again, you will be stuck again, because your second death will not be returned to you until 4:30 (and hour from the second time you died.) Hope that made sense, as I don't know an easier way to describe it. =)

IF YOU ARE LEVEL 10 OR GREATER: You are allowed 2 (or 3 if you are Noble) deaths per 60 minute period, as described in the example directly above. IN ADDITION, you will be frozen at whatever life monument you are tied to for 3 minutes from the time of your death, unable to move at all, as you are worn out from your death. Once the 3 minutes are up, you are free to move either
a) anywhere in the world if you are not at your max deaths yet OR
b) around whatever town you are in if you are at your max deaths
[note that there are currently ways to sneak around this like portalling, although then you would be stuck wherever you portalled. this will all be fixed as we update the scripts. for now we just urge enchanters to socialize at the lifestone instead of porting to some place. =) over abuse of portalling during the 3 minute death timeout may result in me moving some of the portal exit points to less interesting places]
