==ART CONTEST==

Since so many young Leonardos and Raphaels and Donatellos and Michelangelos have been signing up recently, I thought we would hold a Ninja Turtle contest!

oh wait, no... I meant: AN ART CONTEST!

SO, here goes:

RULES:
1) You must enter an ORIGINAL piece of art, drawn, sculpted, or painted (or whatever) by you. Computer art is also acceptable, so feel free to use photoshop or whatever.

2) Your piece of artwork must be of something that is in-game... such as an item, a monster, an NPC, a town, or other location. However, your entry can NOT be of your own character, or anybody elses character. We want to know how people picture the things we, the game creators, have made. A maximum of TWO submissions per person is allowed, and a maximum of one prize will be awarded to any particular person.

3) The contest starts as soon as this post is up, and the deadline for submissions will be Thursday, October 16 at 11:59PM Pacific Time. We will review your art over the next weekend, and the winners will be announced Tuesday the 21st. Prizes will be awarded by Friday, October 24th, assuming there are no problems or delays.

4) Send your submissions to: [email protected] anytime before the deadline. The art must be submitted via email. I am not taking snail-mail sent entries. Put 'ART CONTEST' and then your main character's name (the one you want to get the prizes if you win.) in the subject field of your email. Don't email me to ask questions, though. All questions should be posted to the thread I am going to post in the GAME TALK forum. That way everybody can see the answer.

PRIZES:
1st: The weapon and shield (or other left handed item) you have on any one of your characters in-game will be customized with inscriptions of your choosing and customized names (all within reason and within the game rules. Admins reserve the power to decide something is inappropriate). Also, your weapon of choice and your shield will be enhanced. Last, you will receive 10 stature and 2 stat points for the same character.

2nd: The weapon of choice on any one of your characters will be customized with the inscription of your choice and a customized name, and will be enhanced. In addition, you will receive 5 stature and 1 stat points for the same character that received the customized item.

3rd: The weapon of your choice on any one of your characters will be customized with the inscription of your choice. In addition, you will receive 1 stat points for the same character that received the customized item.

ALTERNATE: Any Initiate(s) that wins any of these three prizes can choose to be made into the Profession of their choice instead of receiving their prize. This offer is good even for Initiates under the level of 15.

DISCLAIMER: Due to oversights, the rules of this contest may change over the next several days, if we think of something new that needs to be added. The rules will be finalized on Saturday the 11th with a post in this thread.

Additional points of clarification:

1) All submitted copies of your artwork become the property of The Dark Grimoire, with your implied permission to do with it as we please. This includes using it on the site, using it for advertisement, etc, regardless of if your particular piece wins a prize or not.

TIP: Submitting designs of creatures and monsters that are particular to our game will probably earn you more points than turning in generic fantasy drawings.

For example:

A picture of the "Amulet of Evilsbane" will be more highly regarded than a picture of "An Axe".

Or a picture of "A zombie adventurer in the dungeon under Dundee Town Hall" will be more highly regarded than a picture of "a zombie"

Oh yeah... forgot to mention:

Do NOT get caught turning in artwork that is not yours. This includes any use of clipart, or even any non-copyrighted material that you find online.

The entire picture must be original and must be your own work.

You don't want to see what we will do to people's characters who try to cheat in this contest.
