I ran into this in the black wasteland:

Just in case you are wondering that is all at once

Here is the breakdown:

17 Mutant Beast-Things
13 Warped Bears
9 Acid Muck Creatures
6 Giant Carnivorous Weeds
6 Mutilated Warriors

AND I KILLED THEM ALL AT ONCE!!! ROAR!!! Just kidding I could never taken on that many things at once.

Is it actually a bug?

The Demon Training Ground in Old Ryndall had a load of monsters in it - over 20 at least...

Actually that is not very many for that location. At one time there were several hundred there and you had to scroll down two full pages to get to the bottom.

Wait until you're level 37 (or is it 36?) - you can wipe the lot out in one go - it's a great kick!
