I am not sure what happened but something went wrong...

Enchanted Skull Helm
Con: 1 Dex: 1 Int: 3 AC: 4 Attack: -3 Level required: 22 Weight: 2 ( I W C R E )

Some how after my spell wore off I was left with -3 attack. Is this something that can be fix or do I have to complete the quest again?

It was with Blessing of Ben`s Fury, and it just happened again to my shield, but I have already replaced it. Hope you can figure out the problem. Should I just get a new helm or can it be repaired?

Is it safe to use Blessing of Ben`s Fury, or should I hold off?

I had used infusion of damage, and it normally just adds 3 to my damage. but that shield went and got a permanent -3, and couldn't ever enchant it again. I just decided to sell it, as I had the extra cash to do so, and replaced it. so far, it has not happened again. But, I am restricting the use to replaceable items should this reoccur in the future

Too bad you didn't keep the shield so we could find the bug.

I had a similary problem with my Banana Sword of Doom. I infused it with Infusion of Great Damage and after the spell wore off the normal attack of 12 was reduced to 7. And since this is a unique item I cannot replace it like the other chars speak of.

Okay. Nobody use any spells that affect attack until Cory has time to figure it out.

I'm going to go post in game updates about this. Anybody who has a no-drop item or an item that isn't sold in shops that was affected BEFORE I make my post will get that item fixed after the bug is fixed.

I used infusion of damage on a lightening staff and a fire staff. The enhancement wore off and the stats returned to normal

It hasn't happened since the shield. I have just been restricting my use of it to replaceable items, just in case tho.But I'll hold the use of it till it's fixed.

Well, you CAN use it if you want... but DON'T use it on other people stuff unless you are sure they know the consequences, and if you use it on your stuff and it is ruined now, it will not be replaced.

Ok. I'll be sure to limit it to replaceable items, and bear the responsibility of replacement if I really feel the need of using this spell

By the way, is there going to be any kind of list of spells, so we all know what is there for enchanters and clerics?

What would be the fun in that? =D

Cory and I have run many tests on this, and cannot get it to repeat. He did change one thing that he thought MIGHT cause this problem... but its just a guess, since we couldn't get the prob to happen.

Anyways, we are guessing this problem is fixed. If it happens again, please note the item, what you were doing, the spell, etc etc... as much info as possible.

Okay, I brainstormed this and had a thought... perhaps if you have more than one item equipped that has an attack value and you enhance both (or more) of them when the spell wears off the script interprets the total sum of the attack enhancements and subtracts that from the enhanced value of in the reverse order you enhanced them...

example:

item 1: attack enhanced +5
item 2: attack enhanced +5

when wears off the total enhancement is cumulative with each subsequent item so item 2 gets -5 attack but item 1 gets -10 attack.

wow, that sounds more complex to explain than it is...
Maybe Cory can duplicate this and confirm if it's true
