DGPN

Postby Nya Lyn » Fri Dec 04, 2009 12:24 am

The link is broken to DGPN, all journals and supported guild links are down, though i dont know who is responsible for trying to correct it. Thorin?

*Catch Thorin IG or send him a PM on this forum (his username here is Superduck) and he is generally quick to fix these things depending on the issue. :)

ETA: I just tried the DGPN link myself and IIRC it seems to be a domain issue with the hosts and not with DGPN per say. I could be wrong though. Either way, Thorin will know best.

*DGPN bugs are not an IG bug so should not be posted here. I am thinking maybe the Q & A section would have been more appropriate for this, for future reference.

.co.uk works still, so you can use it while Thorin fixes.

That site Urkki posted does not work for me. Most all guild sites are now down as well but IIRC this happenes around the same time every year, and will be sorted when it is possible.

Yeah, happens every year. I blame our previous host. Use .co.uk for now, I"m a bit busy so not sure when I have the time to look into things. Can't promise a quick resolution once I do either, because this has to go through Deek, who's been out of touch for over a year. I'll think of something.

As it says to the left......I talk WAY too much. ;)
And yes, I am fully aware that currently it says so to the right, rather than the left, which used to be the location for said line, but I am simply too lazy to change it for you.

Should work for most guild fora btw, if it doesn't for yours, easiest is to notify me through the AVE forum.

Have been unable to reach Deek so far, making things difficult to resolve. Right now it seems like moving everything over to .co.uk is the most practical solution available to us, so that's what I'll be doing. Time to update your bookmarks, people. I'll make sure that later tonight, all subdomains will be accessible on the dgplayers.co.uk domain, as well as update the forums to ensure people don't find themselves getting redirected to dgplayers.net all the time.

Should our current issue be resolved, we'll decide what to do about the whole situation. One benefit of the .co.uk domain is, at least, that I can directly control it.

Not that you can do anything about it Thorin, but...

That will mean no one should use the (Send Deeks Newbie Guide) -link, unless the in game link is updated.

Correct. That link, as well as all links on the links page, have to be updated. Admins? **bats his eyelashes**

The links on the link pages have been updated. Deek's guide will take more work.

If your guild has links within your guild pages, you will need to set up those redirects yourself.

Hi All.

Just randomly looked into here and noticed this.

This is a major problem with the people who host the domain... this time I didn't even get an email to say the domain had expired. I have emailed the domain hosts to try and get this sorted out, but I am not holding me breath about this.

I will keep you updated on the situation, but dgplayers.co.uk will work as it is tied in with the actual hosting of the site.

:)

I would love to come back into the game, but I fear I shall have to start right back at the beginning again (I suspect all my characters have been deleted, and I doubt that Deek would be allowed to make an appearance back into the game).

Nice to see a few friendly faces still hang around here :)

I certainly haven't deleted any of your characters.
At some point I shall have to think about what became of Deek, but you can rightly assume at the moment that he is dead and not log into the character.

Thanks,
M

I tried to access the Bunnies hunters almanac and the RoK's Hunter's guide this morning and looks like both are down. I did not know if someone knew why. Thanks for your time.

Just tried to visit DGPN (14.35 GMT), and got a page with this message from ServageOne -

The whole DGPN network seems down atm. Probalby a late new year gift from the host.

For the time being we can only be patient untill Urkki (who has had his hands full lately, I believe) has the time to take care of it.

EDIT: Seems fixed by now.
