Please remember folks, contest ends Dec 8, Midnight EST. Do not make any edits to your posts after that point as it could take you out of the running. We'll announce winners here as soon as the judges confer.

(For you calendar watching folks, that means probably by next Wednesday or so.)

I wish for a never ending mug of ale, dreams told rather well. It’s icy cold; it hits the spot, frothy foam always on top. Golden, light shines through, giving off yellow hue. Breathing in before each sip, smells great one must admit. Eying now, drool slowly falls. Open mouth, down she goes, spreading warmth to my toes.

The evil creature wallowed in blood, gore gushing from slashed throat, severed limbs, still-beating heart. Signs of deadly combat were plain, clearly marking an unholy being's defeat. Then N'rolav's Dark Lord appeared, called by battle-clamor, to see his minion dying. Eyes rage-filled, Balthazar shouted, "Speak; name your nemesis!" With final breath he uttered these last words, pointing toward Islander, Demon Slayer. "It was a dark and stormy Knight."

Talisk received a blessing by the Great Korunga, and rejoicing was heard throughout Valorn! Excitement soon turned to concern as only fizzles, sour ales, emerged from Isk’s hand. Answers sought but none forthcoming. Hansen, youngest brother, then appeared wearing something human shaped around his neck, rotting smells emanating. Talk of this ‘amulet’ passed quickly. When hair clippings, fruit clumps were found underfoot onto Reesa’s boots, her wayward bunny sib’s Talmulet blamed.

Ascending smattered slanted slopes beyond snow-bearded sentinels guarding ancient trails, with labored breath we climb. Perched upon horizon rimmed by frigid frosted fringed flitting shadows lay our goal. Scattered facet crystal quilts artfully arrayed catch and sparkle back bright light like gusts of glitter beneath each stiff step. Mutual dancing swords yield treasure sought, yet without warm amelioration. Muted clouded words exhaled, hang, linger, fall, lodge in drifted sifted stillnesses. Impervious cold so deep even Sunrifter’s best brilliance cannot thaw.

((can you tell I'm tired of winter already? *laughs*))

And the winners are (we time zone challenged folks managed it finally - thanks for your patience!)

Best advice: Jezzara - perhaps, stay off the grass next?
Chilliest: Jael - reading it, we had to turn up the heat
Most poetical: Fleur - a rather complicated form which fit the rules and started off polite too
Most worrisome: Korrith - we'll never look at lemonade or ants the same

Cool contest. Thanks to Azy and the judges for the nifty idea, and congrats to everyone else. It was fun to read!
And thanks for the prize. I didn't know I won anything until stuff was being shuffed into my sack. Thanks again.

That was really fun. And not as easy as it sounded, by any means.

Great challenge, and one that I genuinely enjoyed reading all the entries for.

Honoured to have won a category in the face of such competition. Thanks.

Watch it Isk, or I'll try to get you appointed to the sub committee on interrater reliability and rubric reevaluation....
