Hutch Happenings

Postby AKA Azure » Tue Oct 23, 2007 1:02 am

Posted on behalf of Derema, head hopper.

Everyone is invited to attend a Bunn-a-thon of events to celebrate this season's Fall Festival!! Come and see and bring a friend *smiles*

Thursday Oct. 25th starting at 5pm EST
"dagger throwing contest" hosted by Jezzara
come help skewer a target!
PLACE: The CSB Guildhall Hall of Sword and Daggers (due south from the guildhall entry)

Friday Oct.26th starting at 7pm EST
Limericks on Demand (an on the spot limerick speaking contest) hosted by Azure starting at 7 pm EST
Tribute to Cerberus one of our founders! STARTS at 9 pm EST
Hosted by Sreip: a contest of short scary stories about Cerberus. Your own encounters with him and his helm, or made up ones about his fight against d'EVILLE and elubbery.
For those that don't know, d'EVILLE is the worst type of evil that haunts the land. Usually it involves something fuzzy or sparkly. Elubbery, or elub, is Cerberus' moniker for cute and adorable couples or over-indulgent expressions of adoration.
Keep it short, keep it scary, and keep it not so sweet! PM Sreip for more details!
PLACE: Cerbies Grill

Saturday Oct. 27th. starting at 2pm EST for a "wrap around story" hosted by Azure and Derema
PLACE: CSB Guildhall Room of Terrors (in the guildhall, follow the signs east and south to the event)

Miscellaneous prizes and tomfoolery will be awarded.

More events will be announced here as they're added.

Oh, since I forgot and we all know I'm terrible with directions, the CSB guildhall is in Dundee on guildhall lane.

Derema has assured me she'll put signage up in the guildhall itself so I won't get lost heading to the Room of Terrors.

Got a favourite Cerberus story that will chill our hearts? Have no idea who Cerberus is?

Come on and find out!

Don't forget, This Friday, 9pm EST, A Tribute to Cerberus, one of the founders of CSB!
Listen to some tales, or tell one yourself! It doesn't have to be true! Just be entertaining! It just has to star Cerbie.

A variety of prizes will be available for a variety of reasons! See you there!
Located at Cerbie's Grill, two north, one west, one north, from the exterior of the Dundee Inn.

Sponsored by the Clan of the Shrouded Bunnies - Celebrating Mentoring and Mayhem since October 2003!

Dagger Throwing!

Postby JezzTheWarrior » Fri Oct 26, 2007 1:01 am

I'd like to send a huge thank you to everyone who showed up to the Dagger Throwing Contest and made it a success.

The entrants entertained us with amazing feats of skill and accuracy. Bolechim's effortless throwing was grace personified while Agua's powerful strike was lethal and impressive. Vorta and Kyl both showed great sportsmanship and a lot of promise.
Kias reminded us how great rogues are with daggers and Lug almost split the target in two when he decided that axes made better throwing weapons.

Nyghtwyng and Valina took the prizes for style after displaying amazing technique and creativity. It was really tough to choose the winners. But I think everyone walked away with something ranging from trinkets and jewellery to Fall Fest Tokens and scrolls.

Skyls made a perfectly lovely assistant, handing out the prizes and even getting a haircut... for which I'll probably pay dearly at some point... if I ever stop running.

My thanks also to those who came and didn't compete. Your support makes it all worthwhile.

A few limericks from the Limericks on Demand contest. Some of the topics included Rats, Tokens, Ale, and Brew.

Jezzara
There once was a girl from Dundee,
who killed every rat she could see.
When she went in the sewer,
the rats all got fewer,
and now it's rat-free as can be!

Skylsganin
Once Wil let a rat in the Grill ,
made all of his patrons feel ill .
it took quiet a few .
to get it to stew
but then they all ate their fill

Valina Ravenclaw
I once drank a very bad ale.
The stuff was also quite stale.
My manners forgotten,
I yelled "this is rotten",
and then I turned really pale.

Korrith
I do like my ale in a mug
In a place that is cozy and snug
The desert’s too hot
The mountains are not
And a Yeti might gimme a hug

Derema
I searched for myself a token
I looked and looked...kept hopin
I looked here and there
looked everywhere
thought the gods have got to be jokin

Frohste
If ye happen upon a loan bandit
Make sure to not ever permit
That bandit softspoken
to leave with yer token
Else you'll never be costume legit!

Korrith
The difference ‘twixt me and you
Is that I can tell what’s a good brew
You slurp MSG
Oh boy, can’t you see?
By 10th Marc you’ll need kidneys new

Jezzara
My favorite drink is a brew
I have it with sewer rat stew
for a brew drinking bunny...
I'm feeling quite funny
But I'll still have another with you!

Don't forget, more Hutch Happenings are still to come!

Azure was a rhyming delight.
She kept us all hopping all night.
A rhyme off the cuff
Can be rather tough
But Azure had us all smiling bright!

Thank you to everyone that showed for our homage to Cerbie. Keldor Spiritlight told an uplifting tale of Cerbie's bravery against ogres, Skylsganin reminded us of the darkness in the night where d'EVILLE lurks, and Hansen Beck got accused of elubbery.
A fun time!
