A little red riddle hood

Postby Red Bumo » Wed Jan 31, 2007 1:08 pm

A riddle to solve, told to me by an old white bearded enchanter, who smoked a pipe, 10 PP to the first solution (that matches mine)

~A young noble boy wakes up one morning and decides today he would make his Father, Lord Morlan proud of him, so he decides to dress himself and present himself to his father,

'Look father, I dressed myself today!' The boy said.

'Stupid boy' replied Lord Morlan 'Your wool jumper is inside out and the wrong way round, that’s two mistakes and it not even breakfast time yet!'

'But no my lord' Replied his wise white bearded enchanter ' the boy has made but one mistake!'~

So why/how has the boy made only 1 mistake?

The mistake was he put it on totally reversed, which would make the back the front (and front the back) as well as the inside the outside - making just one mistake.

Being such a big deal that he dressed himself, his one mistake is that he dressed himself in the first place?

His mistake was to try to please his inconsiderate father.

Has he put on someone else's jumper instead of his own? That would be one mistake.

It was summer and he wore the wrong type of jumper, by putting on wool instead of silk or some other fabric.

You can wear a jumper inside out but the right way round or the right way out but back to front, so no.

but your on the right line.................

*chuckles* Unless he put it on upside down, with his arms in the legs holes, his legs in the arms, the zipper in the back and his head out the bum flap, and his bum hanging out the head hole.

*scratches his head* I just know I'm going to be dreaming about this silly puzzle!

His mistake was simply dressing himself wrong, it did not matter how he did it.

being misdressed is but one mistake irrelevant on how you do it, if its inside out and backwards it is still only just misdressed.

In turning a jumper inside out, the bottom becomes the top. That makes it wrong way round as well as inside out. One mistake.

His mistake was in trying to make his nasty jerk of a father proud.

One last guess...

His mistake was wearing a girls clothing, instead of his own. The clue was the jumper! (we'll see if I got it right this time)

The Answer

The answer was more a test for those lateral thinkers.

Here goes......

The young boy only had one arm, thus his jumper only one sleeve. So putting on the jumper back to front and inside out is the only other way he could wear it :D

So cerdinak was nearest, you can find me hunting in the undead farm for your prize.

New puzzle coming shortly.
