Scroll/Stone/Dagger Tournamant, 50 Teleport Scroll Prize!

Postby Corwin Skyborn » Wed Jun 14, 2006 6:46 am

Greetings to all from Free Agent for Goodness, Corwin Skyborn.

The Tournamant:
Scroll/Stone/Dagger Tournamant (OOC basically Paper Rock Scissors)

This will be a HUGE Tournamant with a Single Elimination format. (you lose once and you're out) The winners will go to the next round. The Tournamant will proceed until 1 champion remains standing to claim the prize. Runner up Prize will be a Weapon Artist/Tinkerer Modified Level 11 Rapier with the Dex/AC enhancement.

Each round will be randomly paired and will consist of 3 matches between the paired competitors best of 3 wins the right to advance to the next round where they will again be randomely paired.

Either myself or the potential assistant I might have to recruit, will personally judge each match using the following procedure... The judge will gather a pair of competitors at the nearest Inn and when the judge says "GO" each person will slip a note to the judge, (PM's him/her) the note will contain your three choices. the judge will then engage in a role play with the players, so they can play out their 3 bouts and have fun. In the rare event of a tie after 3 bouts it will become Sudden Death, The Judge will collect 3 more choices from each player and whoever losses first will be expelled.

**Edited in** The Players will now PM their 3 answers to the judge as a safe guard, these 3 answers will be what keeps games honest. The judge (once having your commited choices) will then engage in Role Playing out the 3 bouts. Each copetitor will have to stay to the same 3 answers in the same order as they PM to the Judge at the beginning of the bout, this lets people Role Play and reveal their answers in the area chat without fear that their opponant will alter their choices in order to take a win.

Example: Judge meets player 1 and player 2 at the Dundee Inn, Judge greets the competitors and collects the commited answers via PM.
Player 1 chooses Dagger Rock Dagger and PMs this choice to the judge. Player 2 chooses Dagger Dagger Dagger and Pms this to the Judge.
The Judge and Players will RP the bouts... Dagger vs Dagger DRAW, Rock vs Dagger, Rock wins 1 point to player 1. Dagger vs Dagger DRAW.. Player 1 wins with 1 point and Player 2 is eliminated. I will then post the Round results here on this thread as they happen. I will also have the Pairings posted here.

For Simplicity there will be a firmly set number of positions open in the tournamant. I'm hoping for 32 competitors which will mean 5 rounds of play. If there is enough damand I will double that to 64, making 6 rounds of play. Each round of play will reduce the number of competitors by half due to eliminations.

One entry per person/account, no signing up your multiple personalities.

I'm planning this tournamant to work in a relaxed time frame with no extreme deadline to play out the bouts (mabye the first few rounds will take several days to play out... and then they will run quicker as the competitors thin down), any time zone conflicts which impair matches will have to be played out strictly through PMs or via Forum PMs or using a potential Assistant Judge based in Europe to get better Time Zone coverage.

I hope this can be a fun diversion and a chance for some RP as the rounds are played out in-character in-game. We may even be able to gather several pairs at once and rp out a portion of the Tournamant. If this works well, then this Tournamant can be repeated in the future.

Alright I think I touched on all points.... Sign-ups are now Open. You need to make a post here with your competing Character's Name and ID# I'm shooting for 32 competitors but if the damand is high we will extend to 64 spots. Good Luck winning the 50 assorted teleport Scrolls for 1st place and the enhanced lvl 11 Rapier, diamond ring, and promise ring for 2nd place.

Post any questions here or PM me. http://www.darkgrimoire.com/cshow43828.html

Please remember that we have to share the Earth. Let us not think that we are the sole owners and that those around us are merely paying rent.

Thorin the Dainty.

As it says to the left......I talk WAY too much. ;)
And yes, I am fully aware that currently it says so to the right, rather than the left, which used to be the location for said line, but I am simply too lazy to change it for you.

I don't think one of these has been done before on a big scale like this one will be :)
