Winter
The nights are long
The nights are cold
Freezing the lands and adventurers’ souls
The days are short and cool
In darkest night
Still there is light
A promise that once more this too shall pass
Stars shine down upon us all
Frost jewels plants
Ice coats the lakes
What light there is will sparkle and will shine
Winter has a beauty of its own
A cold chill gathers around us all
From end of summer’s festive fall
‘til the time of warming comes round once again
Summer dies, soon spring again is born
We force our way through sleet and snow
Obstructing where we wish to go
This season seems to turn our home against us
But wait, all will be well
There’s majesty within these turns
Home fires, and our hearts, will burn
Warmth comes from within us, not without
Still we are strong
In every season of these lands
We take strength within our hands
We abide, no matter how our world may appear.
Come, share the nights.
The joke is on the bloke who never spoke a word at all
But whose dreams lay unrevealed 'til they were rotten ...
