Let's Make a Mixed Tape

This contest will run from now until July 31.

The challenge: Make a mixed tape for adventures through Valorn.

Rules: You can use various music hosting platforms, mix or create your own. They can be full songs or parts of songs, original or already existing - with or without words as you see fit. Really the only rule is that is must be music and it should keep sexually explicit and cursing to a minimum (PG13 if you think you will be disqualified for over sexual or profanity, then you are most likely correct).

Presentation: Post links here, please explain how your chosen songs relate to Valorn's people, places and things. Your goal is to make us want to keep your mixtape on repeat while we skip to my lou up in Sunrifter.

Alfred's Playlist:

Side A: Adventuring

First Step - Leaving Jolan's for the first time, prepared to take on the world!

I'll Make a Man Out of You - But immediately being slain by bunnies and realizing you'll need to visit Trainers to help you get better

Never Gonna Give You Up - Bardcore - Reminding how the holy healers are always there, healing and staunching our bleeding selves as we run around leaving a mess behind us.

You Can't Take Me - That new burst of energy you get to train and finally level up

Ghostbusters Theme - Medieval Bardcore Version - for when you're in the haunted camp fighting possessed camping gear.

Time - Looking at the faces of your fellow adventurers after finally capturing Balthazar's castle and ending his reign, realizing that nothing would ever be the same again.

Main Titles - You've Been Called Back to Top Gun - Preparing to go on that next great adventure after years of quiet reflection.

Side B: Songs About Life

Thank God, I'm a country boy - When Alfred thinks back to the days of his youth as a farmer's son and all the lessons his pa taught him about appreciating life on the farm, this song comes to mind.

And of course, where would any of us be without the jilted bondmate throwing shade from across the inn? That's right, it's just Somebody That I Used to Know

Where Corn Don't Grow - When reflecting on becoming an adventurer decades later than planned and realizing his pa was right all along about the troubles that come no matter what fields you find yourself in.

If I'm not in the mood to overthink it, I take advantage of the work someone else has already done and go for an existing compilation of tavern atmosphere songs: Fantasy Bard/Tavern Music Compilation
It has something for epic battles, something for mindless farming, something for drinking ale to, and it's 9 marcs long!

When I want to get into a particular mood, good old Miracle of Sound usually delivers and is my main source of musical entertainment.
Even fighting rats and prairie dogs can feel like fighting a dragon if you do it to the sound of SKÅL! or Superhuman
When Gavin teams up with Karliene they usually go for calmer or introspective goosebump inducing tunes, such as Lilac & Violet and Perfect , respectively.

EDIT to conform to the rules:
SIDE A: Fighting
1- Superhuman: for those initial ventures to the sewers fighting the MIGHTY rats
2- SKÅL!: when you move on to zombie killing deep in the Dundee Mayor's Cellars, hoping it will be the last of the undead you ever need to face (spoiler: it won't)
3- Under the Sea: a must have for fighting sea dwellers or in the Drowned Lands
4- Diggy Diggy Hole: for farming in general, but most used when hacking away the Vines west of Dundee
5- Battle of York: when the Crier announces a raid, put this on and get moving!
6- Only Us: an enchanter and a cleric are the perfect duo for any battle against a pack of monsters. One heals, the other rejuvenates, and they both should be listening to this jam while they face the endless demon hordes. Bonus points if they are bonded.

SIDE B: RP'ing
1- Perfect: ideal for making a new character and flesh out their profile
2- Lilac & Violet: when you are tired of all the fighting and want to enjoy some casual RP with a passerby
3- The Godfather Theme Song: dealing with the ABV? Alexi Corsair walked into the inn? Put this on, get in the same wave length!
4- To Be Better: displeased the Gods and got smitten to N'Rolav and back? Listen to this while chilling at the Life Monument, ponder your life choices!
5- Onwards We Row: tavern crawling in Killican! Drink all the ale!
6- Upside Down: inspired by Stranger Things, it's the perfect song to listen to while traveling through N'Rolav, our very own alternate dimension.

For clarification: Do not post someone elses playlist and claim that is your mixed tape.

At the moment, per the guidelines... Alfin has three songs on his mixed tape. Turcko has 2, possibly 4 but it is not clear how the last two apply specifically.

Remember a mixed tape would have a list of songs (not a note that says go listen to another radio station).
For example:
1.(Song name link) - for the Haunted Mining Camp
2. (Song name link) - reminds of the time (character) got jilted
3. (Song name link) - best listened to while standing at the top of Branishor Tower
4. (Song name link) - Tyral's theme song

And so on.
Your mixed tape (chosen songs) and how they apply to Valorn.
We am not listening to a list created by anyone that isn't registered on this forum (Sorry Bardcore, I am sure you are great as a whole compilation)

Good starts, and plenty of time to amend your entries =)

Fear is a strange soil. It grows obedience like corn, which grow in straight lines to make weeding easier. But sometimes it grows the potatoes of defiance, which flourish underground. - Terry Pratchett

Prizes forthcoming, to be determined, here is our ranking:

1. Turcko - you think about this a lot apparently. Nice choices
2. Alfred - Nice tune selection! We always enjoy a good side B =)

Not ominous at all. Nope, the phrasing on this is not concerning in the least xD
