SPOOK-GHETTI
The strands of this unusual-looking dish lie intertwined on a plate. Or to be more precise – they should. But in this case they twist and turn, sliding around and over each other. They also seem to display a tendency to reach out to any eating implement plunged into the seething mass in an attempt to avoid being consumed. Or perhaps they’re trying to take hold of the person holding that implement, to pull them in and suffocate them?
A layer of minced bosmeat mixed with a sauce prepared from tomatoes is spread atop the shifting mass of strands – it seethes and bubbles even without heat being applied, carrying on after some strong-nerved cook has prepared the dish. The meat seems to be trying to reassemble itself back into the original creature and it thrashes around on the plate, emitting a forlorn eerie bellowing sound. The sauce quickly sets into a thicker consistency, its aroma adulterated by a strong tang of old iron, as it fades from red to the brownish hue of dried spilled blood…
Piece of grated cheese, designed to lie on top, instead drift above the plate in a whirling circle well clear of the plate – ready to swarm around the head of anyone who would dare try to eat the meal and smother them before they cant take the merest morsel.
The joke is on the bloke who never spoke a word at all
But whose dreams lay unrevealed 'til they were rotten ...
