Spring time contest

Postby Kailani of Admin » Sun Apr 11, 2021 1:35 pm

Spring has sprung across the world!
It is a time of renewal and growth. The winter has warmed and all flora and fauna are starting to kick up their heels!
Show off your favorite part of Valornian spring in the comments below and win a prize!
(entries may be in any medium... except demon's blood. Too hard to clean up. Anything else goes! Points for originality, of course)
This contest will run for 10 calendar days.

Regrowth. Rebirth. Renewal. The way flowers are reborn all over the lands - and reflect under the light of a warming Sunrifter.

(I did this artz using my phone so I’m sorry if it’s blurry or weird looking etc)

Warm breeze blows away the frost of winters bite.
Mixes with the rifters light to bring the world such delight.
Fragrant flowers grow far and wide,
And now green trees stand tall with pride.
Sunrifter shines down to kiss the cheeks,
Of those who find themselves along the creeks.
Animals shuffle about refueling their belly,
And trying to hide from winter sluggish warriors,
or others who might be kind of smelly!

Springtime in Valorn - An Acrostic Poem

Seasons turn: winter’s death brings
Promise of life reborn.
Reds and blues - the flowers wake,
Immersive beauty each dawn.
Night of winter has now passed
Giving way to spring’s sweet dawning
Trees and flowers blossoming, all
Invite us to greet that morning.
Multi-coloured banks of blooms
Extending petal and leaf
In a carpet of colour stretching wide
Now hiding winter’s grief.
Vibrant blossoms scent the air, their
Aroma heady and strong.
Life renewed beckons us all
On into spring, then summer’s song.
Rifter smiles as plants spread rife.
New time, new growth, new hope, new life.

While the entries were not many in number, you all certainly made it difficult for me to choose.

First, a word about all of the entries:

Ellyana - Your entry made me smile immediately. A fantastic use of vibrant colors and I adore cherry blossoms.
Lavender - Your entry made me chuckle, the last line specifically. It was pretty and funny. The perfect sort of tone for a spring time expression.
Pallas - Very clever! Those types of poems can be very difficult to make work. I enjoyed it and appreciate the effort!
Turcko - Pencil drawings are very underrated in my book. I enjoyed both the perspective and simplicity of your piece.
Zarock - A real oil painting! That's fantastic! You have quite a bit of talent that if that was made just for my little contest I am honored. Also, a lot of people don't think of mountains when you say 'spring' - but of course every terrain experiences the seasons.

Thank you all for entries! You will all receive a token of my appreciation for your artistic endeavors.
The winners are Pallas and Zarock.
You two will find a little something extra in your packs before the cycles end.

I cannot express, ironc for an artist, My gratitude and appreciation for this. All the other entries were so lovely and every one did a great job.

if i may ask without seeming rude or ungrateful.
Would it be possible if you would mind having my Zarocks sketchbook set to my main hand so i can hold both items at one time?

My deepest and sincerest of thanks

My thanks, Kailani, for the ‘little something’.
I’m sure it’ll act as a spur to produce a few more written words when appropriate.
