Fixing the Nexus - Call for Aid

Postby Turcko » Fri Mar 15, 2019 9:14 pm

*Falx Monde pins a note to the town board*

Adventurers far and wide, your aid is humbly requested in a matter long overdue!
As you may or may not be aware, the Nexus used by enchanters for swift movement across Valorn has been crippled for many years now.
Enchanters can travel to certain points using pillars similar to the one found outside Ryndall that leads to Milltown. Darkness has broken the ones leading to Milltown, Dundee and Branishor.

We would like to see them repaired or replaced, but lack the knowledge to do so. Any ideas, no matter how unusual, are welcome in an attempt to restore the Nexus to its former glory, so we are calling for all professions to come forth with any ideas.

For this, we will be hosting a meeting at the Ryndall pillar to Milltown, half a cycle from now. It is our hope that the High Queen and emissaries from Ryndall, Branishor and even Altitan may attend. Proper invitations will be sent to them to that end.

Cordially,
Lavender C. Morgan
Falx Monde
Iron Protector Bebhinn Mac Airem

Summer Time comes into operation in the UK - and apparently many places in Europe - on Sunday March 31st. So the time the meeting commences will be 9pm BST.

And that Pallas is why I absolutely adore you, who else can we rely on to sort out our time zones?

Yes, thank you Pallas for your wisdom on the time from that side of the pond, I fear it usually escapes me.~ Lav

If that affects my country as well, and I believe it does, it's not the GMT/BST time that should be set to 9pm, but the others that need to be corrected.
The goal was to have the event start at 8pm here :D

If the CST/EST times as they are fit better for everyone, I could try and delay my initial plans by 1 hour though.

Yes, it does.
Summer Time is already in operation in the US, so on and after March 31st we're back to what can be thought of as the usual time differences.
For confirmation, the times would be as follow -

8pm BST
3pm EST
2pm CST

or

9pm BST
4pm EST
3pm CST

Excellent idea. I hope we can find the information needed to make the repairs.

I'm really quite sorry I suddenly blacked out by the end of the meeting!
Many thanks to all the helpful adventurers that came to us with ideas or simply to support our quest for a fixed Nexus.

The following ideas were set on the fictional table (we couldn't get any furniture at the place, sorry):
- Could the High Queen help us seek the aid of Ryndall or Branishor?
- Could form be linked to function? Would an exact replica of the broken pillars be needed?
- Could the new pillars be made outside the Nexus? Perhaps even for all to use?
- Could massive prayer be used to mend the damage with the power of the Gods?
- Could glowing crystals and even massive portal summoning provide the power to reignite the pillar cores?
- Could samples of the broken pillars or their cores be acquired for further study?
- The singing that once came from Altitan and restored a damaged Life Monument could be of help? Could Altitan hold the knowledge to restore the pillars as well? On this line of thought, if magical singing is involved could the recently recovered bright red balloon with the voices of singing children be used somehow? (Currently in Branishor's hands/vaults)
- Could the recently discovered libraries of Ryn (burning library in Ryn and the one in the Tower of Farsight) hold the answers?
- Could Life Monuments be the key to remaking the pillars and their cores, since pillar/portal destinations seem to be tied to them?

I hope I did not forget anything, if I did please do let me know. Feel free to help us pursue any of these lines of thought and please do report any progress made. Again, a heartfelt thank you to all those that gathered.
