So a bit earlier on Saturday :-)

I’m Central as well - Saturday mornings work best for me, with some minor exceptions (things crop up from time to time but right now morning works).
I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of how awesome I am :D

Most week days I'm usually in front of a pc between 6pm to 10pm GMT.
During weekends it varies greatly :D if there's a pokemon go event I'll be busy from 10am to 1pm GMT.
The best weekend time is from 3pm to 6pm GMT as my son usually sleeps in that period, so I'm both home and free.

Okay for translation sake - Central is 6 hours behind?

Yes that's right. Central is 6 hours behind GMT.
So as an example - the beginning of Turcko's last post equates to 'Most week days I'm usually in front of a pc between noon and 4pm Central'

Weekdays Pallas usually wakes about midnignt GMT - 6pm Central. That could be brought forward. Depends on transmission time/number of episodes shown in an evening of Game of Thrones
Weekends unless anything crops up I could be around at most times, so can pretty much go along with what's easiest for others.

My ideal times on weekends, if I'm available at all (which I am this weekend but not for the next three!) are any time between 2:00 pm and 11:00 pm. All times are Eastern.

A very smart question was asked:
Is there not anything the denizens can do to protect themselves from the demons?

Obviously the demons have the upper hand in the basic rules I have laid out so far.

To be honest, with a small group of less than 9 playing (for the first time) I didn’t expand the rules any beyond what is basically necessary for game-play. The game will be pretty short - two to four turns at most.

However, once 9+ people play there are optional, advanced rules. Or we always have the option to implement them with seven playing. That’s why we have this discussion, so we can make it better together :-)

My ideas on expansion include additional denizen roles based on our professions:
Warrior - could choose another denizen (other than the ruler) to protect (not themself) (Of course not knowing who the demons are, there is a chance they would be protecting a demon)
Cleric - choose another denizen (or themself) to bless. Nullifying the curse of they choose wisely.
Rogue - choose another person to ‘spy’ on, learning their alignment (denizen or demon).

Naturally, there would be caveates - you cannot reveal proof of your role (like sharing the PM from the narrator, if you tell someone something the Folish only have your word to go on). And you cannot use the advantages of the additional roles while serving as Ruler.

Those in the warrior and cleric roles would communicate their decisions to use their ‘powers’ privately with the Narrator, after the current ruler has announced their decision (to banish or not) and before the end of Riftershine is posted and Demons Eyes begins.
The Narrator would communicate the actions of the Warrior and Cleric on the notice board only in response to a successful block of a curse.
(Harry was almost cursed! But the demons were not aware that a cleric had bestowed their blessing...) or something similarly silly.
A Rogue role can communicate at with narrator during Demon Eyes only to learn the alignment of 1 other player - and not whole serving as Ruler.
Also - the powers of the roles can be used once per GAME.

Thoughts?
Maybe once we play once or twice, adding some extra roles would be fun to help the game extend.

I know it won’t catgh everyone but we are going for 8am central on Saturday. Anyone available later in the day can catch up and join in (it won’t hurt anything to wait a bit for some of the actions) as long as they have ‘signed up’ IC.
I’m getting the IC stuff together today. For simplicities sake (and since it’s basically happening tomorrow) Anyone I’ve spoken to that has committed can be considered signed up for this go if you don’t make the official in character post.

If I haven’t spoken to you or you were on the fence, please make sure you DO sign up IC.

The question was asked: Can the game be played over just forum RP.

The answer is yes- whatever medium you utilize for your characters to discuss/plot/decide is up to you. Since our timing doesn’t always align, forum RP on the episode thread is encouraged to overcome this obstacle.
The phases and actions will be displayed on the forum - by the narrator, the Vicegerent, and the Ruler. Additional discussion (in character interaction) to influence the ruler/other denizens can take place on the forum as well as IG.
So in short- it will happen across both mediums, the forum being the primary ‘log’ of the game.

Hope that helps!!

A note on voting - send votes to the ruler through forum or in game PM.

And the Ruler shouldn’t wait toooo long to call a vote and announce their decision; or the narrator may speed things along for everyone’s sake of playing :-)

One point I've not seen addressed (unless I missed the relevant bit of a post) so I'd appreciate clarification -
Raffe said in one post 'Demon Eyes is concluded when the narrator announces who is cursed and how.' So, being cursed we know that the person named was not a demon.
If someone is banished are we told whether or not they were one of the demons? I presume we are, otherwise we have no idea how many demons are still ingame.

You won’t know if a demon was successfully banished until the end of the game :-)

The question was asked:
Can a ruler reveal votes?

The answer is yes and no - Anyone can say whatever they like. But since the Folish are only taken at their word, no one can use PMs as proof.

The decision to trust or not trust what they are told is up to the individual player of the game and their reputation for deceit or honesty as they play.
