Winter's Warming Caroling

Winter's warming is a ways off, aye, but in preparation for the season I wrote a song. It's come to my attention since arranging it that everyone took part in one last winter's warming. (see here for last verse)

I'd like to welcome everyone to begin writing their own carols to share. During Winter's Warming, we'll be caroling around Valorn, details will follow once we have a more exact idea of when it'll be held. This will run until the end of Winter's Warming.

((As an aside, there will be rewards for participating in the writing as provided by myself. We will have caroling on DG's Discord in addition to the IC caroling. Suggestions for songs include: Hojo Got Run Over by a Turkey, Here Comes Articus, Bernard the Red-Nosed Gremlin, etc. It doesn't have to just be the classics, it can be any winter related song ))

Good Queen Cordelia

Good Queen Cordelia looked out,
During Winter Warming,
While snow and ice lay thick about
And creatures howled 'til morning.
Brightly shone the Demoneyes,
Though the wind was cru-el,
When a young man came in sight,
Carrying some gru-el.

"Come here Viv and stand by me,
What is that man doing?
Is that slop his dinner tonight,
Or am I misconstruing?"
"Ma'am that's Bif, that's not his food,
It's likely gremlin vittles.
He makes sure they are warm and fed,
As they are but little."

The Queen stood by and pondered this,
Finding it quite odd,
At last she spoke with certitude,
And a firm, decisive nod.
"Viv this man may well be mad,
But his heart seems kind at least.
See the cook and ask for food,
We'll help him with his feast."

Out they strode and followed Bif,
Went out to Dundee plain,
They joined their food with his that night,
Deep in that dark domain.
So listen all who hear this song,
Make others now your quest,
Care for those who have less than you,
You will always then be blessed.




No reward for writing please, I just couldn't resist. Looking forward to seeing what other people produce... also apologies for the liberty taken with characters, events that never happened and shoe-horned scansion
