Our Fellow Adventurers,

In a few turns time we are organizing an expedition to climb the Dark Fortress in the hopes of testing adventurer ideas and further examination of some features. We would like eight defenders (64-65) to be on the safe side, as well as two to three Clerics and as many Enchanters. If we do not have the needed numbers to proceed, we will have to call the climb off. If you are willing and wanting to make the climb with us please make your mark below or contact Protectors Doyle or Viviyana.

Due the the unique challenges this climb holds, we ask those coming to read the below guide to the climb.

Special thanks to Synvasti, Bebhinn, Dimitri and Zanaan for their knowledge on the climb.

The base of the climb is protected by a guard of six responsive tendrils, meaning that if one falls another will replace it when a person enters the vicinity. For this reason, the climbing group must enter the area, wait until all have entered, and then stay in that area until the battle is won. There can be no retreating or leaving and returning for any reason. Because of this it is often only possible for each defender to attack the tendril mass one time (two if they are sure of survival). It is recommended that this first hit should utilize any special attack. (Staves, rings, UW, daggers etc) When the first tendril falls, it is important to hold your strike so that clerics can heal between kills, supported by rejuvenation from the enchanters. This pattern continuing on until all the tendrils are killed. The rest of the climb will follow the same strategy, but the numbers and types of foes may vary.

If you do fall in battle, it is important that you do not rejoin the battle. Contact the member coordinating the climb and once the mass is cleared people can enter the area one person at a time. (On person enters, the tendril that spawns is cleared, the second person enters etc.)

(( I want to emphasize that you don't need to be defender level to come. One of the OOC reasons we are doing this is to give those who haven't been able to make it up the climb an opportunity to. That said, to get a large group up will require everyone cooperating. Most importantly not leaving and re-entering an area and spawning more creatures ))
