Win a character portrait round 2

Postby Korba » Thu Apr 16, 2015 10:55 am

I'm in the mood to draw another character portrait like the ones here. I have run a contest before that Kenji won, same details as then:

The rules are very simple, I'm going to pick the most interesting character that I want to draw, you can use your bio (please just link don't copy the text) or write more information here for me to use as inspiration. I would like to work with the person that wins to get their feedback throughout the process. The main basis for the drawing will be the items your character has equipped but it's the little details that are going to make me pick you.

I didn't mean interesting items to mean rare or admin given things. Through leveling there is usually an item that is considered "best". I'm looking for items and weapons that not many other people choose to fight with. Also this really is open to everyone regardless of level or even if you have never spoken to me in game, please don't let that stop you from entering.

The contest is open to anyone who hasn't had a drawing done already, this includes all professions (including initiates) and all character levels. Entries are one per character not player (premium and non-premium).

You can ask me any questions here or find me in game.

Korba

The fine print:
1. All DG rules apply, specifically © and claiming to have items / equipment you don't.
2. You can post links to art available online that you think your character looks like but bear in mind rule 1.
3. Please include a link to your character profile.
4. If you describe and item you have but don't equip normally I might ask you to provide a link to show ownership.
5. I have no idea how long the actual drawing will take, be warned it could be a while!

The contest will run until the end of April but if someone posts a really great entry early I might start to do some initial sketches so sooner is probably better. I'm quite keen to draw some sea scale gear so anyone who uses that might find themselves at an advantage.

Question to rule number 1. Items we don't have. Many characters have trinkets and items in their bios that are not actual items in the game. I can think of any number of wood carvings, multicolored bracelets, belts, etc.. Is this to strictly mean if it is not an actual object, it is void?

For example with Nih: He walks with a cane. Of course, I do not have an item that is something to be equipped. Would that automatically disqualify him from this?

If not, then I'd like to enter Nih for the contest. From the teeth to the scars, and his wardrobe to his chosen weaponry, he is highly unique.

Who better to commemorate with a portrait than Avedis? I mean - that's what he thinks, of course. 8)

No sea scale gear, but your portraits are always amazing works of art, Korba. :)

Alexander Justice

My goal for him as always been to train him up to level 60 so that he could effectively use the Sea Scale armor, but I threw that idea away back then when the Sea Titan armor was released. He's always been fascinated by the Sea Dwellers, every since he first started to use Golden Age scrolls to modify his gauntlets. The way the scales cover his body as they do. Granted the color of the armor and the rest of the sea gear is mis-matched, but eh. A sea monster, hah.

I'll throw Morvan in to the mix:

http://www.darkgrimoire.com/cshow180782.html

A cutlass made to glow is his preferred weapon, trying to make one as bright as his UW. And a cloak with pumpkin and candy ball trim. Not to mention, he practically lives in N'Rolav desert now, I am curious to see how the constant sand has affected him and his armor.
