If you remember, a few months ago Cory announced some speed changes, and the game suddenly got a lot faster.
The speed changes have to do with some caching, and caching requires RAM, and one of our servers has been exceeding its RAM because the game is getting so darn popular... so the speed changes are off until we sort things out so we at least don't get those errors from running out of memory. It is not permanent.

The cache system has been restored with some memory changes put in place. There is also a new error message for many pages when you can't connect to the database. Some pages will still give you random junk, but many will now politely inform you of the error.
