Mozilla Firefox

Postby Ben » Wed Sep 14, 2005 6:32 pm

A smaller change than it might seem on the surface:

We are changing our focus from Internet Explorer to Mozilla's Firefox. What this basically means is that we build and test using Firefox, and then try to make things look decent in IE afterward. This is the opposite of what we used to do, where we would build in Internet Explorer and then try to straighten things out in Firefox at a later time.

Basically, what this means to you, is that things will look better more quickly after any given change if you are a Firefox user than if you are an IE user. Firefox is a lot more efficient and easy for Cory to work with, and even I, a staunch supporter of evil corporate America, have switched over because Firefox is just so nifty. Problems such as the chat box not having an actual box around it, and jumping attack buttons, are artifacts that happen in IE but not in Firefox.

Firefox is, of course, absolutely free, and can be found at the following link:
http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/

We do recommend that people use Firefox to play DG. We will, of course, continue to support Internet Explorer as much as we can for people who can't or won't switch. We like to be a browser based game that you can play from just about any computer... part of our charm, if you will, is our ability to sit behind your spreadsheet at work.... so you do not have to worry about us only suppporting one browser or another.

As a side note, we do almost zero testing in Netscape.
