"Straight from the horse's mouth" would be okay though. See the stables in Aldwythe's Landing.

Noteworthy though is that Aldwythe isnt Valorn. And I seem to recall Darren once stating 'Valorn has no horses', wether this is official or not, there is a marked lack of references in Valorn, only one, and that ones dead. So for intents and purposes, it would appear there are no living horses.

'By the Blight of the Wastelands'- an exclamation on the foul state of something

'Cant see the Horizon for all the Grass'-a nice alternative to the Tree's and Forest, referring to the Tall Grasslands

Cory's hand is a term I've begun using for no apparent reason, just lately.

Sort of like "Good heavens!" or "God no!" in context:

*Wyf Broadskull laughs raucously* Oh, Cory's hand...I would pay good plat to see that one!

or "Cory's hand, no do not use that!"

Edit: Ben's hand would work as well, I've just been saying "Cory's hand."

Thanks to Topaz for reminding me of this one.

Becory.

I beat the becory out of several dozen tomb wretches last night.

Sort of like bejesus, but with Cory. Sorry, Ben, I considered saying "beben" but it looked odd.

Urkki's contest and some of the subsequent questions reminded me of this thread.

Along with the deific and demonic inspired exclamations:
Ben's bunions
Cory's hand
Miranda's smile
Balthy's (or Balathazar for those of a more formal mindset) britches
etc

There are also colorful yet non 'cussing' ones too:
bos baiting
fumble fingered
gape-mouthed
gremlin teasing
pox witless
windlost
wit wandered

Just a few more suggestions!

makes me go bananas or I am going bananas

Valorian: makes me go Korungafied or I am getting Korungafied

Has not happened for ages or taking a long time

Valorian: Has not happened in a God's moon or it is taking a God's moon

These two expressions is what Taladorn has been known to say when expressing his frustration

I had always thought the moon(s) were called the demon eyes (or something similar) because of the basic level of astronomy.

But to add to that - perhaps a gods moon could be a very long time and a goddess be less, but still a while.

I meant that it has been ages since we've seen Cory, Ben, Darren, Joe etc so it could work out to mean a greater length of time - but not specific. Was that any of the many ways you see it could have gone?

perhaps Taladorn could change his expression to:

Has not happened in a goddess's smile

This would refer to Miranda's smile in the night sky which appears once every fall festival

I will rephrase that....a goddess's smile does not sound right

has not happened in a Miranda's smile sounds better.

And what Hojo said about a long while for A God's moon and a short while for a Miranda's smile sounds good also.

It makes sense that in the land of Valorn there would be such frustrations expressed, or sadness and happiness, I wonder how other Characters would express their emotions by using Valorian slang. I know that their are lots of Valorian slang around, but have not heard people using such slang much.

Well, the 3 moons are referred to as demon eyes. See Ben's post in this thread viewtopic.php?f=21&t=4213.
So I believe refering to the 'smile' would be the better option

Yes Purazon I take your point, but Ben does refer the demon's eyes as the names of three moons that travel from horizon to Horizon. Thay are not expressively used as the names of actual eyes of demons.
And I have to assume that the gods created those moons as they created Valorn and sunrifter and everything else in existance.

However on reflection I have to somewhat agree that the expression of what Tal would say in frustration would be better to say
for example "I have not seen that for as long as a Miranda's smile". It does sound better I agree and does reflect the activity of the goddesses rather than the now not so active Gods.

To be a bit silly, to be a bit of an idiot:
Silly Billy

Valorian: Silly Moose
