Poem by Rosaline

Postby Lavender » Sat Sep 22, 2012 9:31 pm

was asked by a few to share the tale I told so here it is I hope all enjoy- Rosaline

There once was a man from Dundee
Who when out to see what he could see
Through the Dark forest he roamed
Found to many animals that foamed
So to the nearest town he did flee,
There at the inn he exclaimed he was bit by a tree!
Those shopping nearby
Did hear the man cry
Some then stopped shopping to stare
As the man did look like a bear
He was over six-three
And there between his ankle and knee
Was a sight most of the world would never believe
But it simply seemed a bit strange to me*srugs*
Out of the lads leg a dagger did hang
Though some say they thought it was a fang
So it did seem to be that the man fell asleep under that tree
Out of the pocket of a rogues’ cloak
A soul leach dagger fell and hit that poor bloke!
And to this day that poor man wails
That it’s simply too dangerous along that trail!
I leave you now with the moral to this tale…
Never fall asleep along the trail.
For no one ever, seem to see,
the rogues that hang among the trees!

LOL! A worthy effort, indeed. Talk about accuracy, too, though I suppose with a fellow that big, it'd be hard to miss. Nice work.

This is not a poem but a song still something I created while Lavender was hunting Blue guardians with Azure.

(To the tune of “Oh Christmas Tree” ))
Oh Blue guardian, oh blue guardian where are thou oh blue guardian?
Many seek thy treasures dear; many seek what you hold near.
Oh Blue guardian, oh blue guardian where are thou oh blue guardian?

Oh Blue guardian, oh blue guardian where are thou oh blue guardian?
In caverns you seek to hide and volcanos you do abide.
Oh Blue guardian, oh blue guardian where are thou oh blue guardian?

Oh Blue guardian, oh blue guardian where are thou oh blue guardian?
I search for you both day and night; I search for you with no sunrifter light.
Oh Blue guardian, oh blue guardian where are thou oh blue guardian?

((Tune “Blue Christmas”))

I’ll have a dull hunt, without a blue,
I’ll have a dull hunt, without a blue!
You’ll be doing alright with your crystals of gold, orange, and red!
But I’ll have a very dull hunt without a blue!

Blue Rhyme

One, two, I found a blue!
Three, Four, let’s find some more,
Five, six, they sure are slick,
Seven, eight, I hate to wait,
Nine, ten, let’s hunt again!
Eleven, twelve, more blues to delve,
Thirteen, fourteen, they sure are keen
Fifteen, sixteen, and very mean!
Seventeen, eighteen, they must have foreseen,
Nineteen, twenty, and hid the plenty!

Liked the aesthetic and wording for the "Christmas Tree" song but it'd be hard to sing properly because of the syllable count. Still a good effort just for the lyrics.

Liked the counting song for it's snappy rhythm. Good for jumping rope or farming on DG.

Thanks for posting.

One Sell Left to Find -By Lavender.

One spell left to find, one spell left to find
Deep in the spiders cave I will spend all my time
One spell left to find, one spell left to find
Among dancing spiders, having a marvelous time
One spell left to find, one spell left to find
And oh to find it would bring peace of mind
One spell left to find, one spell left to find
Now to find it would be so sublime!

Told by Joyfire at the Vanguards Lemonade Social

Sweet and sour
Tangy and tart
Sweet lemonade has stolen our hearts
Tested and tried
Tis no better treat
and some lemon tarts are wonderful to eat!
So pucker up and sample some of it all
Lemons are a grand fruit for ALL!

Though dark be the night,
it is with delight
that we see the sky sparkle with small points of light
and the night just seems so right
The marcs pass as the sunrifter travels the sky,
with light so bright it hides the night
that that twinkled with all its might.
The sunrifter’s warmth
makes the night seem so cold,
but to those that are bold
the night holds
more wonders than can be told.

This is my account of what happened the day the Minstrel did sing at the Dundee Inn. I may not have all details correct and any are welcome to make corrections so the tale of that day can be as accurate as possible! Thank you!

~~ Rosaline~~

The marc started as usual as ever, then messages where circulated that the Minstrel Steelthunder’s arrival at the Dundee Inn, many flocked to the inn to hear his song themselves.
Steelthunder began to sing within Dundee...he spoke of war, and of strategy, and potential alliances. It is thought though that the war we face is woven into most tales in this age. He spoke of the rock giants in Altitan, being friendly with those from Valon long ago, until betrayed by one of their own. After the tale to the mountains many did flock in wonder marveling over the tale. I Rosaline, was one of the first to arrive at the massive stone gates to that city I will probably never see, thoughts of the tale running through my mind, yet they all went blank when I spotted dust falling from those gates, like something had shaken them just enough for their massiveness to move, a muffled noise I heard just beyond the gates.. Like music so soft and quick did the sound escape, I look back to find that following on my heels Alanna Sylverhaven and Sorynn, I pointed to the gates and asked if they saw what I had seen only to question my sanity at what I witnessed when I found that they had not. Many people now gather at the gates as well, I told what I witnessed hoping that I was not alone but found none that saw what I managed to see. Frustrated and confused I decided to stay there and meditate hoping for guidance to understanding. More people did show from around the land with tales of their own of the ground shaking beneath their feet, yet more a feeling with in them , then actual movement they too head to the gates only to then be told of the song the Minstrel did sing. We talked of what wonders we might see, are they friendly still, or do they bear a hatred for us now for the betrayal they bore? Inspired and unable to meditate much more once the words spoken around me disrupted my calm, I pulled out a parchment and began to write poem of my own. One might think these are imaginations running wild from the tale the Minstrel spun that marc in the inn, but those who did see, or hear what they did are not usually known to make up tales of this sort.

While meditating at Altitan, I was astonished to hear a small snatch of song again from the other side of the doors, deep voices harmonizing and a sound that could only be described as grinding of stone against raw rock. Thankful I was not entirely alone when this occurred. ~Rosaline~

Thank you for sharing your story, Rosaline. Well told and thorough, and a great asset for those of us who who were not there. I hope you continue to keep us updated.
I long for the song of the morning, the dancing of shadows at dusk, and the silence that closes the night.

I have chosen to delete my post here, that I could, about what was going on at Altitan, feeling it better to keep them in a journal instead, having previously not had one before now. I worried that this was not the place for such post like that but all are welcome to still read them in Rosalines new journal instead. Hope everyone understands. Thanks!
