The story of Savilla

Postby Despy » Thu Sep 20, 2007 1:07 pm

Have you ever had the feeling that you were being watched? The hairs on the back of your neck standing up? It's not paranoia if it's true. This is a tale of a young girl, coming to the realization that she is destined for more. This is Savilla.

It was a morning like any other in Savilla's homeland. The smell of fresh grass, fruit trees, and harvest lingered in the air. She tended to the fields, and helped keep the chicken coop. She liked to work alone, as it gave her time to think. About what? Her destiny. She had a feeling deep inside that there was more meant for her in this life. She felt like a lost soul, not knowing the direction she must go to find wholeness. But every day, she felt the same hollow feeling.

One day, just before supper, she was hoeing a row to plant some korunga trees. She was nearing the end when she felt that sensation. Her face flushed slightly, and the hairs on her neck stood up. She tensed the grip on the handle of the hoe and trembled slightly. That's when she sensed something coming at her from behind. She swung around just in time to see a flying beast coming at her, full speed ahead. She raised the handle of the hoe to defend herself, but it was of no use. This vile beast flew right into her, knocking her to the ground. It circled one time, then swooped back in, clawing at her midsection, trying to carve her alive. Savilla closed her eyes and screamed. Suddenly, she felt a calmness come over her. She shoved the beast off of her and quickly rose to her feet. She swung at the beast with the business end of the hoe, making a solid connection with it's head. It let out a shriek so blood-curdling that Savilla was taken back for a moment. The beast saw this, and tried to strike out at her with it's wretched claws. She parried the blow with the handle of the hoe, and swing the head of it at the beast, catching it in the belly with the head. It cut deeply into the beast's midsection and was stuck. She swung the hoe over her head in circles, faster and faster, until she let it go. The beast with the hoe caught inside its belly went flying, until the beast landed right into the middle of a tree, then fell to the ground, dead.

Savilla walked over to the beast, crushed and bloody, and retrieved her hoe. Then, she looked down to her own gut, damaged from the claws of the beast, and collapsed due to her own injury.

If ya like it, let me know. I can continue the story.
