The road to redemption

Postby Wren SilverPhoenix » Sun Oct 15, 2006 12:09 am

Sitting with her back against the rough bark of the tree, Wren SilverPhoenix casts a wary eye around the dark forest. She would have found it hard to believe such a concentration of bears, wolves and other dangerous creatures could be found in such numbers...would have found it hard to believe had she not just recently dispatched such a great number to be with their ancestors. Taking a moment to compose herself here in the Dark Forest, Wren rests her head against her sword and briefly closes her eyes as the sweat rolls down her dirty face.

As she breathes deeply through her mouth, sucking in great amounts of oxygen, she relives that moment which changed everything for her. How could they do it? Over such a paltry matter. She had certainly done worse than that in the past but it was this transgression that forced their hand. As the past rolls through her mind she tries not to hate them for what they did...but that is as impossible for her as standing in the rain and expecting not to get wet.

Shaking her long black and silver hair, Wren rids herself, at least momentarily, of her past and with a weary sigh climbs back to her feet. Wiping a hand across her brow, leaving an even worse smear of dirt across her forehead than before, Wren hefts her blade onto her shoulder and looks out through the forest. So much work yet to do and the shadows are lengthening on the ground...

Listening to the far off roar of an apparently very angry bear, maybe one of the many wolves stole it's dinner, Wren SilverPhoenix gives a stony smile.

Dropping to her knees, Wren looks to the skies as she draws the razor sharp blade of her sword across her palm and raises her bloody hand to the sky as an offering to the Gods.

With the blood of those who fallen to my blade, I beg you to show honor to their souls and with your blessings I now go to send a multitude of many others to your sides. In honor lies strength and in mercy lies defeat.

Standing up, Wren SilverPhoenix swings her blade testing its weight and then saunters off through the forest towards the sound of the bear she recently heard.
