URKKI

A cleric's heart is found in many a guise:
some great, some small; some quiet, many loud;
some kind, some gentle, dignified, or wise;
some mild and humble, others bold and proud.

But if you seek to find a cleric true,
look first to him who bears the open hand,
the healing touch when only passing through,
the oft unnoticed treasure of this land.

To generous Urkki do I sing this praise,
for he himself would never tell his deeds,
but blesses Valorn well through all his days,
and gives unstintingly for others' needs.

No gift too great for him, no act too kind;
a cleric's heart in him you'll truly find.

TOPAZ

Warrior lady and her sword with no name,
if only my skills in poetry weren't so lame.

There she is, that warrior lady
Helpful, kind, and never shady
She's written poems, about me and they're mostly not true
But Topaz, this is my revenge on you!

She's always greeting and thus making people glad,
if only my skills in poetry weren't so bad.

Your words written with such perfect timing,
All that imagery and all that rhyming.
This is my way of thanking,
I should stop now, I'm thinking!

Urkki.

Your poem is brilliant. Almost as brilliant as Topaz. Please continue honing your talent, Sir. I do look forward to more musings from you.

I had some help...everything you consider brilliant is probably something I didn't think of. :)

Even with help, your poetry was witty and it made me laugh.

Because Korrith Deserves it

Postby Blythe » Fri May 05, 2006 9:04 pm

One for Korrith.

I like Korrith's head
It's so round and very shiney
I think it got that way
From all the sitting on his “robes."
When I need a cleric
I know just where to find him
In the Dundee Inn, with
Ale mugs stacked around him!
Oh, I'm not saying that
He likes to drink
He often just sits and converses
And making people think.
He's not really an Inn Zombie
Although he looks the part
He has far too big of a head
But truly, far too big of a heart.

I wasn't going to post this - I don't think much of anything I write, but I think even less of this. However, in the hope that someone will enjoy it...

For Fallen Valornians

Do you watch us, fallen friends, as we live our daily lives
Do you long to walk amongst us in our struggles and our strife
Do your hearts once warm and pulsing ache to beat once more with ours
Do you miss just breathing gently during long, warm sleeping hours

Are you hiding in the shadows of the oft-crowded Dundee Inn
Are you laughing at the foolish antics, the drunkenness or the sin
Are you berating in soft breezes those who sit so inactive and morose
Are you smiling soft in pride at staunch mentors, or helpers such as those

Have you accepted the fate that befell you, forced upon you or self-sought
Have you come to terms with what lies ahead, refusal is for nought
Have you whispered your goodbyes to the loved you leave behind
Have you loosened, fit to break from, all the ties that once did bind

May you find a welcome rest from any troubles that were yours
May your wishes for the afterlife be swift affirmed and assured
May you never be forgotten, and be blessed and thanked before each fight
May you seek the presence of our great gods and kneel eternal in their light.

Are we supposed to say where our songs and lyrics come from? It's a fun song, but I've heard it
Sorry if I offended anyone, trying to learn when to do what here.

In-game you should not quote or 'perform' any lyrics or verse that is not of your own composition.

I started this thread so I could place some of the pieces created for characters in Trinald. While I have no objection to others adding to it in such a manner, I strongly object to out-of-place lyrics being repeated here, and especially when they are plagiarised.

As a general rule if you use somebody else's work, it is common decency to acknowledge where it comes from.

Now, back on track with this thread please...

I'm better at writing facts, but let me try a ditty!

Scooter's Chew Toy

Cut and stitched with care,
a plains cat stuffed with hair!

Two inked eyes peer out
but no mouth to shout
at pain it undergoes
as its tossed to and fro

Cut and stitched with care,
a plains cat stuffed with hair!

Bos, cat, and rat pelt
plumps the leather form out.
Scooter's toy hidden in barrel
playing won't make him feral?

Cut and stitched with care,
a plains cat stuffed with hair!

This poem, or song if you'd rather, was inspired by one of my favorite pastimes. I thought I'd share it with you all. :?

Crystal Hunting

A guardian hides behind the walls,
Lurking somewhere in these halls.
Ignoring all my sweet love calls,
And soft footfalls.

I beckon, hither, 'come with me'.
Shy they are, and rightly be.
My true desire they must see,
Is to steal their destiny.

The beauty of the crystal glow
As perfect as the dawn on snow,
Lies a tempting breath below
A good 'n hefty blow.

So, singing softly I must tread
The lonely halls of the undead
Crossing footprints colored red,
My hunger still unfed.

Cause the guardians who listen
Offer crystals that don't glisten,
And false promises of kissin'
Ain't what they be missin'.

I've found the limits of my charm,
Yet the knowledge fails to harm
My hopeful song or cause alarm
Whilst I pretend to farm.
I long for the song of the morning, the dancing of shadows at dusk, and the silence that closes the night.

Maybe a choosing song or a hand clapping or skipping song

Round and round and round it goes.
will it ever stop? Nobody knows!
Gold or gratitude, coin of the realm
listen to them talk and be overwhelmed
Korrith Thorin Talon
Iris Despy and Gaelen
Each makes a choice
How choose you?

A children's counting or stone-toss song:

One, two, hit the rat
three four, find the cat.
five, six forest tricks,
seven, eight swamp I hate!
Nine, ten hit the hen.
'leven, twelve farm again.
thirteen more down the shore!

(not exact, but what do you expect of children's songs?)
