Dragons

((A complete work of fiction on my characters part just using colors and dragons to tell this tale.))

Long ago, there was a dragon covered from head to toes in bronze scales. He was loved by all, for his scales had a shimmer that rivaled even the crimson scaled dragon.

The Argent and Carbon scaled dragons were jealous to no end. For they wanted the attention.

One turn the bronze scale lost seven of his scales when betrayed by the Argent and Carbon scaled dragons.

When a dragon is challenged, they don't turn it down and so the great race began around the heptagon-ish continent.

It was during this race that the Argent and Carbon scales attacked the bronze scaled and knocked off seven of his scales and thus they got scattered... imbuing different objects with his color. His shimmer that rivaled the best.

Without all his scales, he had lost his shimmer. It was dulling, and he was ashamed to be seen.

They sought after the mortals that held the objects, attacking them indirectly, making it look as if the bronze scale had been doing the attacks.

Mistrust among the mortals spread... torn between if the bronze scale meant them harm or friendship. Several times the bronze scale would reach out in kinship to the bronze bearers, only to be disrupted by the other two.

Things finally reached a boiling point when the seventh object was found, and the bronze dragon finally had all seven gathered in one place.

At first they tried different things in their search to figure things out, but eventually the kind words of truth won the bronze scale over and he appeared.

He had no shimmer. His shimmer was a distant memory. With watchful eyes he seen them gather the objects into a circle and he landed upon them, taking them back into him.

With trust and an offer of kindness, betrayal became a distant memory to the bronze dragon. He thanked those gathered and left.

Scintillating story, guildkin. Enjoy how none of the other colors were diminished by the bronze reclaiming its shed substance. -Ss

((Thank you for sharing your lovely, full-circle story. It's a great addition to Trinaldian dragon folklore, Bris. It's clean, simple yet evocative, and so connected to our times!))
I long for the song of the morning, the dancing of shadows at dusk, and the silence that closes the night.

((Thought I'd bump this for those that haven't seen it. Should be noted that this was written during the time of the original seven that held bronze touched objects. Was my take on the bronze as a dragon, whom we all know now as Drakon.))
