Zanaan's folky jams

Postby Zanaan » Sun Sep 14, 2014 12:17 am

Decided to write some fun, folky songs, so here is my first, as fabulous as I.

Oh once there was a maiden as pretty as can be,
Saw her down by the Fartown sea,
Hair of gold, body slender as a tree.
Oh ever could she be the death of me.

Oh dawdle, diddly dee,
One small look and she hynotized me

The way she moved could make me smile
The gleam of her eyes my heart did rile
but I stood dumbstruck for all the while,
dreaming of the day we'd walk the aisle

oh dawdle, diddly dee,
A second look and she dumbfounded me

She came to me and in a whisper said
Give me your coin or you're better off dead
Finally came to my senses and shook my head
So she threw a rock and I saw red

Oh dawdle, diddly dee,
On the third look she stole it all from me

Eventually on the beach I woke
Trudged in to town in my skivvies and broke
Was helped along by some rather nice folk
And found that I had become quite the joke

Oh dawdle, diddly dee,
Never again will any see me

Oh once was a man dressed in yella,
Critters of Valorn say he's a tasty fella

Say the first thing he ever saw,
Was a bunny standing only a foot taw,
reached over in the hope to shakes it's paw,
not knowing about survivals first law,
Ooooh and the last he saw was the bunnies maw.

Oh once was a man dressed in yella,
Critters of Valorn say he's a tasty fella

One fine day he trudged in the swamp,
found some ivy and got in a romp,
Ivy thought him weird and full of pomp,
and the man on the ivy did try to stomp
ooooh but the ivy grinned and took a chomp

Oh once was a man dressed in yella,
Critters of Valorn say he's a tasty fella

Oh then he came across a dozen rat
thought they'd make a fancy hat
The rats thought him an annoying brat
So they jumped on him and on his corpse they sat
Ooooh and cleaned his bones of all his fat

Oh once was a man dressed in yella,
Critters of Valorn say he's a tasty fella

Tired and weary he went and read a book
But inside at him a worm did look,
Disgusted he grabbed the tome and shook,
But the worm attacked with teeth like hook,
Ooooh and the worm his life that day he took.

Oh once was a man dressed in yella,
Critters of Valorn say he's a tasty fella

Oh wen't a huntin, and lookee what I saw,
Found a guardian 'bout six feet taw
Hit em with my sword and hit em with my axe
Even grabbed the straps and hit em with my packs

O'er and O'er I hit that thing
Hoping against hope for some shiny bling
Hoping for a blue and hoping for a red
Hoping for anything but a dull once dead

Finally that guardian fell asunder
pieces of armor hit the ground like thunder
but yet there stood to my dismay
A dull as a reward for this here fray

But worry not my friends for it's just begun
All simply part of the hunters fun
for three steps more and there I saw
another guardian standin' 'bout six feet taw

The cycle goes on an' on my friend
Some say this story will n'er end
But one thing I know is might sure
You gotta sing this song o' the guardian to lure.

O' Fall Fests here and there's been a crime,
An' it seems ta happen almost every time,
So gather round and listen what I say,
It's time we gather and enter the fray

Dressed in black and wearing a mask,
To you these banditos I must put to task,
And worry not about a paltry reward
just run them through with hammer and sword

And look what falls down from their pack,
A Fall Fest token or unhealthy snack
So go find them wherever they be,
find them please and kill 'em for me.

Whether in the forest or in the plains,
Smash 'em till from their head spills brains,
With the Dwellers or in the grass
Find those banditos and kick their - *Coughs*

Boing! Boing! What's that sound?
Boing! Boing! Mischiefs abound!

Boing! Boing! What to do?
Boing! Boing! It's come for you!

Boing! Boing! Tall and yella
Boing! Boing! He's a friendly fella

Boing! Boing! It has arrived
Boing! Boing! In the fields it thrived

Boing! Boing! He hands a prize
Boing! Boing! Gone before rifters rise

Boing! Boing! The air it sings
Boing! Boing! As the Great Korunga springs

Boing! Boing! It's once again gone
Boing! Boing! O' gone with the dawn

I was walking through the stalls of old Dundee,
When a fine young lad did done stop me,
Asked did he "Sir why go out beyond the gate"
And I smiled at him as my mind did debate.

"Oh the truth" said I to the fine young lad
"Is adventuring is not for the lonely or mad,"
I turned to the sky and said with a grin
"For adventurers are free as any has been"

"We wake in the morning, noon or night,
Sit about an inn, throw parties or fight.
Never bound by status or ideal
We can make our wildest dreams turn real."

Turned to me and asked he did
"But you still must answer at the queen's bid"
But I turned to him and winked an eye
And pointed my finger to the sky

"The queen you see is still our own,
And we all still need and respect the throne.
But freer than her we are so blessed
Not worried about duty or how we're dressed

We walk the horizon, mountains and sea.
Dance with giants, ride cannons and ferry.
Travel continents, and see it all,
Be it beach, volcano, or ancient waterfall.

So when you ask why I go outside,
Imagine the things to which you must abide.
Then think of me and say
I hope to be free like him one day."

Oh once was a rogue silly as could be,
Went out walking under a tree.
Met a gremlin at dawns light
But set aside her sword not wanting a fight.

Twas love first sight, true as true
But she a human, oh what to do.
He grinned at her and 'Yer a purt
'But like others why you no want hurt'

She grinned at him, Viviyana did,
Blushing quite like a lovestruck kid.
She reached out then and took his hand,
And ran with him out across the land.

Bernard you see was quite struck dumb,
His tiny hand barely able to hold her thumb
But yet they frollicked, toiled and played,
Then on the plains grass they laid.

Watched the twilight sky together,
Hoping this night would last forever.
But alas she had to go about her trip,
But not before planting a kiss upon his lip

Every night since then they say
They come together to cuddle and play
Desperate for each mark together to spend
Viviyana and Bernard lovers till the end

Oh round Dundee we've heard it said,
There's a warrior who's humor is light as lead
To make him laugh is a crime you see,
For it certainly means the end of old Dundee.

But the gods are playful and really quite fun,
And this warrior though, not knowing what he's done
Starting blooming flowers and dropping petals
And all about his armor it settles

Pink and blue, yellow and red
From behind his knees and beneath his head
They bloom anew with every pluck,
Oh this warrior has the most rotten luck.

But worried are the people that he might laugh,
A horrid sound to rend the inn in half,
But worry not my friends for you'll hear but a growl
And then he'll walk away with not but a scowl

Oh Hojo won't prove them wrong?
Listen my friend to this here song.
There's humor in life, just look and see,
And let your laughter ring through old Dundee

When I take the time to cook someone a nice meal, all I ask for is a simple "Thank you".
Not all this "how did you get into my house" business.

How can I sleep?
Oh how can I snooze?
It seems every marc of silence,
Is naught but a ruse.

Singing Guardians
And crumbling doors,
Shattered beams,
and demonic roars.

How can I sleep?
Oh how can I snooze?
It seems every marc of silence,
Is naught but a ruse.

Man eating bookworms,
And thumb cutting flowers,
Giant rumbling doors,
And mysterious powers.

How can I sleep?
Oh how can I snooze?
It seems every marc of silence,
Is naught but a ruse.

I close my eyes,
And lay down my head,
But 'lo there's a tendril,
Down beneath the bed!

How can I sleep?
Oh how can I snooze?
It seems every marc of silence,
Is naught but a ruse.

I try the tunnels,
Expecting no pawns
But much to my chagrin
It's overrun with bronze!

How can I sleep?
Oh how can I snooze?
It seems every marc of silence,
Is naught but a ruse.

You know what I'm tired,
I won't be deterred
I'll sleep through it all
And I'm not to be stirred!

All these years, Zanaan, and I never knew you were capable of such.

But you were only little when you started in DG, I suppose. And now you're all growed up and medium sized.

(I like them, in case that wasn't clear.)

Oh joyous day and happy night
All are ruined by a simple plight
It comes on in without a sound
And begins to us it's plight expound

Oh why this way must it be?
And can't this fellow our annoyance see?
We wish to laugh, toil and play
But his words have gone and ruined the day

We love you friend, you know it's true,
Oh but now what is it we can do?
We don't wish to hurt or cause dismay
So for a smile from you we pray.

Come friend and join the fun
Let your worries be gone and done
Take our hand and follow along
Join us in laughter, dance and song

Oh please be sad nevermore
And please gods don't be a bore
You're a good man and we believe in you
We just wish that you'd get a clue

A smile is a golden thing
Far more precious than a shiny ring
So let's see it lighten up our life
And forever bury this depressing knife.

So much temptation,
Such a small thing,
Dull as a rock,
Shiny as a clerical ring

Oh amulet of fate,
You're ever so cruel,
Yet every six marcs,
over your potential I drool

You started so small,
yet look at you now,
sh'ant touch you no more,
Of this I must vow

But just one more touch,
What harm could it do,
Brighter you could glow,
Or my luck make me rue.

Oh wonderful day,
And wonderful night,
A most marvelous chance,
That will end in my plight

Oh amulet of fate,
You're truly the best,
Now stop your temptation,
And on my cloak stay at rest.

Good jam. :)

Oh sit there friend,
I pray you listen well,
There is a roguely woman
And she'll put you under a spell
Shaerih! Shaerih!

Smart and cunning,
Without any peer
She will take it all,
Everything you hold dear
Shaerih! Shaerih!

She'll steal your heart,
She'll steal your lace,
She'll steal your coin
And the hair from your face
Shaerih! Shaerih!

She'll take it all,
It's hers you see,
Given to her ages ago,
By roguely decree
Shaerih! Shaerih!

So hide it away,
Bury it deep,
And maybe another marc,
your valuables you'll keep
Shaerih! Shaerih!

If you think she won't
Then frankly you're wrong
To be honest I'd be willing to bet,
She'd steal the end of this ---
