In Branishor ...

Postby Elspeth » Sun Oct 03, 2010 3:18 am

In Branishor, 'tis said, I know - planted in streets, the clerics grow
While enchanters pursue affairs like finding certain magic wares;
All basking in the temple's glow.

The city lies on water's bank - I know not which the gods to thank
It's also tucked nigh Eastern mount, with spires more than I can count;
All serried shapes to show their rank.

A ferry from the south sails in bringing adventurers by the bin
In market stalls the marketeers shout loud enough to ring your ears
Each vying for your coin to win.

Characters wander city's street - all of them are good to meet
Each of them has a special trait; some will haggle, others wait,
Some poorly groomed, still others - neat.

Beyond the northern wall waste lies - o'erhead, a cannoneer oft flies
Lofted from distant Fartown's gun nigh to the path of 'Rifter's sun
Passing through calm cerulean skies.

Warriors are seldom seen - perhaps they are of frugal mean?
They cannot portal, nor closely fly - and ferry schedule's oft awry.
To trudge the waste, they are not keen.

O traveler come hence, hear this; Branishor is not a place to miss
For gods' blessings often rain upon the folk that nearby train
Resulting in unconditioned bliss.

And though I would not soon return, still it is one place for which I yearn
For below where gleaming towers' shined lies a fantastic peace of mind
And many things from which to learn.
For as long as it takes; there is no finish line.
