Re: Creature Mixup

Jael is pleased the judges overlooked her *coughs* verging dangerously close to god-moding, and thanks them and Azure for the contest! Congratulations to all the entrants for increasing the depths of our nightmares!

Re: Creature Mixup

I had heard the High Ones speak of them, though quietly assumed it embellished by warm fires, eager ears and ale. But when I rounded a bend in the trail I was slowly following after a successful raid, and slammed into a literal wall of stomach-emptying stench, I thought immediately of Anu's descript...

For her often uncannily successful Guardian Hunting song (and her unasked, cheerful appearances of help thinly disguised as "exercise") ...among MANY other things....Huzzahs for Azure! :D

Re: What would you like to find in one

I would think it a great delight to find, upon opening one of those elusive treasure boxes, a Song Stone. Fitting easily into the palm of all but the most massive Warrior’s hand (such as Islander’s) it is irregularly elliptical with a concave curve on one side and slightly spongy to the touch, altho...

Re: Summerfaire poetry (note addition of rule 4)

Two mountains stood tall, side by side, Divided by unbrigable distances, Alone together . . Circumstances dictated a fate not their choosing: They could not move, and thus were forever doomed apart. Yet in their grieving, they found ways to touch . . . The morning sun woke the Eastern peak, The arms...

Re: Return of the Six Sentence Story

(as always, such wonderful entries! I'd no intent for mine to morph into poetry, but *shrugs and smiles*) Travesty! Pursue through trackless, treacherous tombs, O’er undulating, convoluted sandy dunes, Scale blasted, treeless barren heights Where winds hiss mournful tunes. Scour forsaken desolation,...

Star Pattern : A configuration of seven stars, although you almost have to squint to see the more faint ones, arranged in an imperfect, slightly elliptical circle, set in the eastern sky. The stars are brightest at the northwest and northeast curvatures of the constellation. Mythology : As with so ...

Ascending smattered slanted slopes beyond snow-bearded sentinels guarding ancient trails, with labored breath we climb. Perched upon horizon rimmed by frigid frosted fringed flitting shadows lay our goal. Scattered facet crystal quilts artfully arrayed catch and sparkle back bright light like gusts ...
