Spell Disappeared

Postby Taladorn Padasha » Tue Sep 01, 2009 11:22 pm

My alt got a gold crystal took it to the Eulicidator Tybalc in Ryndall and he decoded it and the parchment was "infusion of the morning star". I then read it and the screen told me that I read the scroll just like the other spells I did, but the spell did not go into my alts spell inventory. My alt is an Enchanter and has got Three previous spells ok.

I have checked that I took it to the right place and I did....so what happened there then?

Are you trying to cast this spell on an item rather than on a person like some other spells are?

I did not get a chance to use the spell..as soon as the crystal was decoded I read the parchment but the spell did not transfer into the spell list.

Well, there's a difference between casting spells on persons or on items
Spells that can be cast on a person will appear on your 'powers' spell list. Spells that can be cast on items will only appear when you click the item you want to enchant and then press the "enchant item" button.

So in fact you'll have 2 spell lists instead of one.

No no, ok I have not explained this properly, let me start again.

My alt was in the tombs and he got a gold crystal from a guardian. He took the gold crystal and it was decoded in Ryndall.

When the crystal was decoded my alt recieved a parchment "Infusion of the morning star" When my alt read that parchment although he was told that the spell was read successfully the spell "infusion of the morning" star did not appear in my alts spell inventory list. So instead of my alt having 4 spells ( 3 spells was decoded and read successfully ) he still has only 3, because the spell "infusion of the morning star" does not appear on his spell inventory list.

Why did not the spell appear in his spell inventory list if it was decoded and read successfully like the other three spells he has already got from gold crystals.?

In short if he decoded and read a spell successfully why can he not cast it, and he cannot cast it because it is not in his spell inventory list like it should be.

So then you are saying that when you click an item to enchant, and the correct spell list shows that are for item enchants, the new spell does not show up in the list?

A glitch perhaps?

That is correct...but....*coughs*

I think I have the solution as to why that happened...I may have forgotten to pick up the spell before I read it

If that is the reason why I did not get the spell in my Inventory list then I apologies for this post....my mistake :(

Ummm..I have a confession to make

I obviously do not know how to cast spells properly, my thanks to all who helped me with this.

I do have the spell, I just did not know how the spell system works

After reading Purazon's and Korba's post I realised my mistake. Thanks Purazon and Korba :)

my sincere apologies *runs and hides in a dark place so no one can find him*

No problem. I'm glad your problem got solved and that you have the spell, so you don't have to go through a dozen of duplicates before you encounter it again.
