Death counter keeps resetting

Where does it say this issue is being looked into? I'm on my phone so maybe I have just missed another topic it's mentioned / confirmed as an actual bug in, or something. Unless you meant just in general we know from experiencing it and this topics postings. I got confused.

Either way it's pretty inconvenient - most especially when accumulating many deaths during attacks and such and been "broken" a while now if it is indeed a broken mechanic. Could be a new mechanic in which case I don't like it and don't know why it would be changed to how it's currently functioning so I'm going to keep hoping it's broken and will someday be sorted and stuff.

I can't say for certain Elly. But I think it has something to do with Coder fixing this bug. At least the dates would suggest so. I know it seems odd. But I've seen odder things happen; like that white page while moving bug that was monsters trying to eat my character's face off.

No problem with the bearing with you Zeric, we love the game and will always keep coming back. This will just give us an excuse to stop training and go Role play for a bit. IF only I could stop my stubborn self from doing that all the time...but my stubborn characters got their stubbornness from somewhere . LOL. Thank you for assuring us it is still being looked into!

This has happened to me twice tonight - The first time (after three deaths) I was to wait 39 minutes. It went down as normal until it reached 5 minutes, and suddenly it jumped back up to 11. I waited it out again until it went down to 2 minutes, and suddenly it jumped up to 19 minutes! After this, it sorted itself and I was able to train again after the nineteen minutes.

Later on in the evening I ran into the same situation of having to wait after three days. It counted down to 1 minute and suddenly jumped back up to ten minutes. (I am currently waiting this out). I just waited it back down to one minute and suddenly it has jumped back up to twelve minutes!!

At the very least, I'm glad I'm not the only one having had this issue... Thank you to Zeric and the others for their work on fixing it!

I'd suggest until they fix it that you keep track of your first death when it happen and if you die again be very careful until an hour has passed since your first death. Sometimes I augment this by going afk for a few minutes to buy myself a bit of time

This has been 'broken' for a while, and to be honest, I don't really know why. So here's my new plan: I'm just going to start messing with stuff and see what happens.

You all are now my guinea pigs. I just made a little tweak which may fix this, may do nothing, or may totally break deaths altogether. Go and die like you usually do, then report back in this thread with how you get on.

Lavender went and died her 4 allotted times, and no counter has appeared saying how much time I have. And I am still able to access fighting area's when I shouldn't be able to now.

I now have a counter! An hour... *whistles, and laughs* Eh I needed a rest after that.

"Well... guess you fixed it some I can no longer access fighting areas. Time to go chill for an hour... or more after 5 deaths... That was interesting."

At the end of my hour, all deaths vanished and I was able to enter fighting area's again.

Died my allotted 3 times and have a counter for an hour. Will update. After 3 minutes I was able to move once more but couldn't go anywhere unsafe, except I can go a little ways up the Western Mountain pass. Perhaps a left over from the old escort mission?

After the hour all my deaths are gone. No odd resets or anything, looks like you fixed it, Zeric! Thanks.

I purposefully spaced out my deaths on an alt, leaving about 20 minutes between the first death and the third death. At three deaths the counter set to 60 minutes. If I remember correctly it should have been set to allow me freedom once an hour had passed since the FIRST death (So like 40 minutes). And the counter would go down to two deaths as the hour passed on that first death.

So, in short, I think there is still an issue.

It is better than the frustrating not knowing that we got with the resetting. Before, it counted down each death individually starting with the first, BUT you were still grounded for an hour regardless, since it wouldn't release you until you were all the way back at zero deaths.

Now the countdown is just one round of 60 so you have a good number to gauge by...at least

Also, the death-counter still does not count down. I re-tested, First death was at 7:15...at 8:30 it still showed 3 deaths.

Not quite right. It used to count each death individually, and once you went back below 3 deaths (or 2 for non noble) you could move about freely again. It wasn't until the death reset bug that you ended up having to wait out the full duration of all your deaths (1 hour from the final death) before you could move.

Third death put me at 52 minutes, which considering I died one after the other sounds about right I'll monitor the counter.
