Postby Lunitari » Wed Jul 08, 2009 12:00 am

I would like to see how many words everyone can first create and use in a sentance using * THE DARK GRIMOIRE* as your base.

For example; The grim tiger roared at the hairier dog.

Rules;
Each letter can only be used once.
Things that don't exist in DG can be used.
We are looking for muliple sentances but creative and comical sentances may recieve and additional prize.

Prizes;
1st Prize = 3 WP's and 3000 plat
2nd Prize = 2 WP's and 2000 plat
3rd Prize = 1 WP and 1000 plat
Additional prizes to be given randomly

Sorry Luni - just to check - not sure I have the rules right - you can only use each letter once yes?

Does that mean just once in each created word, in the sentence, which? Sorry if I am being thick - I am renowned for it you know...

The dark grim night turned bright responding to the sun's rays.
(is this basically what you wanted Luni?)

Sorry, Each letter once per created word.
Kind of like the board game scrabble.

This sentance has letter that aren't in *THEDARKGRIMOIRE* in it.

Okay, think I've got the hang of it! I found plenty of words - though the trick is finding some to string together to make some sort of sense, as in the case of a rather odd picnic ...

The maid Marie met her mate at the mire. There, tiger, ogre, dog, roamed.
Her mate Mark made tea.
Marie heard a rider. 'Mark ... hide the tea!'
The rider roamed the grim mire.
Mark made more tea.
The dog raked her arm, gore marred it.
'Tea, ogre?'
Mark made tea.
The maid hid her marked arm, the rider married the ogre, the tiger ate her tea.

The Dame got mad at the ogre. "Go age the aged dog more, he hid the red gem!"
The ogre rode to the dog to make him age more. The Dame heard the rage, got her
ram to ride to the dog.
"Here dog take that dram, I am here to take the red gem!" the Dame raged.
The dram had a germ hid in it and the aged dog died....oh dear!

Here is my entry into the contest:
___________________________________________________
One sentence -

A rat ate a dog, that ate a hog, that ate a doe, that ate a deer, that ate a tiger, that ate a mare, that ate a hare, that ate a hag, that hired a hero married to a red hot mother to get a dire ogre at the market that made a three tiered hat with a rim mired in gore to go home, that made a dare to ride a harried mare three marks, get the rare red gem to Kim, dot the three tree homes with the gear with Tim, take the tar rag to Tom to trim a tad, rid the grim germ at the dorm, take the bad mead, hoe the earth with a rod, read the dark grimoire, trim the girth with a dart, or dream a mere dream.

Multiple sentences in a story/rhyme/song format -

“I made a great home in the dark mire”, I remarked to Rae. ”A dream home!”
“Oh?
“I make a three mark ride to get to it, or to the market from there.”
“I heard dire ogres make a home in the dark mire. “
“Eight do, I think. I heard of a time a grime mired dire ogre rode a tired mare to the market. It tarried there a mark, ate a doe a rat tried to take, roared at the rat to make it go or get eaten.”
“I tried to hire a hero to get the dire ogre to go home. Amir tried a hoe. Mark tried a rod. Tim tried a rare dart to hit the dire ogre. That made the dire ogre mad. It rode the tired mare at Tim to get the arm that hit him. He’d eat that arm! A great lot of gore that might make!”
“The dire ogre got Tim! Argh! It took him home to make hot toe tea! A grim time, I’d rate.”
"I’d hate hot toe tea. I’d rather get a dram or three. More mead to me!"

The harried mother roared in rage at the torrid tare at the market. A rat at eight? No! It took a rat at three to make mirth.

A rare tiger made a home at the edge of the dark mire near a three dot marked tree. Rot it! Go get the tiger? He might get me or I might get him, I’d take that dare.

A three tiered hat made Mark irate. A three tiered hat I’d rate at eight!

A mead in the mire made Tam a deer, E I E I O!
A mere deer here! A mere deer there!
Here a deer, there a deer, more, more, more, more, more, more deer!
A mead in the mire made Tam a deer, E I E I O!
