Art Contest sponsored by the Company of the Aurelent Dawn

Here ye here ye Company of the Aurulent Dawn is seeking the talents of all artists across the lands!!

We are opening an art contest starting tomorrow and will be open to all talent for 14 days. Once this time has passed no more submissions will be accepted and the Judges will come to the forum and collect the art works. Now you may ponder what is the topic to be portrayed? We seek an art work to live in our guild hall for all time that portrays who we are and our place in these lands. (OOC- Simon has done a nice job with our forum graphics, but our logo does not quite sing "Company of the Aurulent Dawn" like we wish it did.)

Our guilds reason for existing is to bring forth once again to our desolated lands a second age of peace where all Valornians reside in safety and prosperity. No more plagued by demon raids or destruction of villages; but peace and a revisited knowledge from the past and improved by the best minds of today and tomorrow. All peoples standing together as one in the dawn of a new golden age!!!

To help the artist understand us better feel free to drop by our meager humble beginnings, and meet its peoples.

Rules and Regulation of Contest

Open to all non-Company members. One entry per person.

All artwork to be submitted in this thread. (ooc: starting Feb 9 and closing Feb 23 midnight as per the posted time this forum to make it fair for all)

Submissions should be approximately 1000x250 pixels or smaller and reflect the general theme of the guild and include it's name. If using non-original artwork, be sure not to use copy-writted materials (We know there's much out there available for free use and tis fine to use that).

Please include your character number in your post.

Within two days after the contest closes the submissions will be viewed and judgment taken; following which the winners will be posted here in this forum. The Contestants will then be informed whom to contact to collect their prize.

Prizes

1st place gets pick of the lot plus 2000 plat

2nd place picks from remainder plus 1000 plat

3 place picks from the prizes left plus 500 plat.

let me get this straight, ... you want something you can use as a banner, ... OR you want a logo, that can serve to be implemented in sigs and banners?

The winner shall be displayed on our forums as the banner. It shall also be "displayed" in our guildhall, once built, vividly described within one of the main rooms as a commisioned piece of art.

You'll notice the symbol on the sides,
1) as a rising sun
2) as a focal point, bringing all things to the center, as 1. you'll also note 1 road leading to the horizon, to the sun, to a dawn of the new golden age...(that is off course, the purpose of the guild...)

Oh, and off course I made a seperate file of the logo of the rising sun, just in case you want to it for other things as well...
